Garden City, N.Y. – The Molloy women's soccer team fell to the Panthers of Adelphi University, 1-0, Saturday evening at Motamed Field. The Lions move to 0-1-1 while the Panthers improve to 1-1.
 
How it Happened

• The first opportunity of the game came from the home team, as Kayla Mushorn put a shot on target that was saved by freshman goalkeeper Elyse Muñoz in the opening minutes.
• Graduate student Caitlin Kennedy generated a scoring chance in the 12^th minute but put her shot just wide of target.
• 10 minutes later, Adelphi found the back of the net following a goal from Madison Apicella to take a 1-0 lead.
• The Panthers created two more scoring chances in the opening half, but Muñoz made two key saves to keep the contest at 1-0 heading into halftime.
• Adelphi looked to add to its lead 34 seconds into the second half, but again Muñoz made a strong save.
• In the 49^th minute, freshman Isabella Muro created space to get a shot off, but sent it wide right.
• The home team would hold the Lions without a shot for the remainder of the contest and close out the victory 1-0.

Top Performances

• Kennedy and Muro tallied one shot each.
• In goal, Muñoz made nine saves.
