PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team scored two goals in the final 15:10 to rally for a 2-1 non-conference victory over host Lake Erie College on Thursday.
Sophomore
Courtney Felton opened the scoring for the Redhawks in the 75
th minute and sophomore transfer student
Alena Weibel delivered her first goal as a Redhawk, a 22-yard blast into the upper right corner with 7:52 remaining, to provide the winning margin.
"We really struggled to find any rhythm in the first half, but it was a great response from our team in the second half to overcome the deficit and get the road win," Roberts coach
Sarah McClellan said. "Now that we have that first game under our belt, we can continue to work and improve each time out."
Roberts held an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal.
The Redhawks return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Clarion University.
