Bridgeport Baseball Completes Florida Portion Of Spring Break Trip With 6-2 Loss Versus Bentley

Tampa, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team closed out the Florida portion of 2019 Spring Trip with a 6-2 loss to the Bentley University Falcons in a game played at the University of Tampa. The Falcons, who won three of four game between the two teams in the Sunshine State, pushed a across four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to snap a 2-2 tie and push on to the victory. UB is now 1-11 overall, and Bentley moves to 3-11 on the year.
Sophomores Patrick Palmer (Ansonia, Conn.) and Vincent DeRubeis (Trumbull, Conn.), each had two hits for the Purple Knights, plus senior Eamon Catherina (Ridgefield, N.J.) and freshman Cory Listing (West Sand Lake, N.Y.) each drove in a run.
Up next, the UB baseball team will head back North and open a three-game series in Delaware versus Wilmington University with a 12 noon doubleheader on Saturday.
