BUFFALO, N.Y. – In their first conference match of the season, the D'Youville University women's soccer team came away with a 1-1 draw against Mercy University Saturday afternoon.
 
After a scoreless first half of play, the Mavericks were able to get on the board first with a goal in the 76th minute of action. The Saints (0-3-2, 0-0-1 ECC) kept battling as it took all 90 minutes of action until Izzy Deachman (Nobleton, Ontario) was able to cash in to score her second goal of the season.
 
DYU had a few chances at other opportunities with Laoise O'Haodha (Limerick, Ireland) and Lana McNulty (Temple City, Calif.) each getting a shot on net.
 
Kailie Regan (Holley, N.Y.) went the distance in net, making six saves on seven attempts.
 
The Saints will be back in action this Tuesday, September 19th, as they travel to Ursuline College for a 4 p.m. start.
