UDC Puts up Tough Fight Against Regionally Ranked Daemen; Falls 66-58

AMHERST, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia's men's basketball team wrapped up their N.Y. weekend trip facing off against regionally ranked and the current No.1 team in the conference Daemen College. Despite matching up and going point for point in the second half, the Firebirds fell short because of the deficit created in the first. UDC fell to an overall record of 5-16, 4-7 in league play and Daemen improved to 14-6, 11-0 in the ECC.

Jahmir Marable-Williams led the Firebirds with a season-high 20 points while grabbing five rebounds, three steals, and an assist. Eight other Firebirds scored, with Tevin Curtis and Kenyon Stone contributing eight apiece. UDC shot at 36.2% from the field and Damen shot at 43.4%.

UDC (5-16, 4-7) will host Molloy College in their last regular-season matchup on February 2nd with a tip-off time of 7:00 pm. UDC Athletics is not allowing spectators but will be live-streaming the game on the ECC sports network.
