CANTON, Ohio, - Host Malone University scored twice within a 57-second span in the second half to spoil the season opener for the Roberts Wesleyan University men's soccer team on Thursday night.
The Pioneers converted a penalty kick in the 60
th minute and then scored again on a long rebound for the only goals of the game.
"Malone has shown a great deal of improvement this year," said Roberts head coach Scott Reber, whose club defeated the Pioneers 3-1 during the 2022 campaign. "We will learn from this and prepare for Saturday's match against Walsh."

Caleb DaSilva made six saves for Roberts.
The Redhawks continue their two-game Ohio trip at 1 p.m. Saturday at Walsh University.
