SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - A late goal by Queens College left the American International College men's soccer team with just one point and a 3-3 tie on Tuesday, October 3.
AIC is now 2-2-6 overall.
AIC struck first right at the 28:00 mark as Jonathan Tekie finished a feed from Ali Taleb for his first Yellow Jackets goal. That set off a flurry of scoring. The Knights tied the match at 36:31 with a Leo Pinto goal, but AIC retook the lead less than five minutes later as Christian Torres found Taleb free in the box for his fifth of the season at 40:11.
Taleb added an unassisted goal just out of halftime at the 52:52 mark, pushing AIC's lead to 3-1. The Knights, however, started the comeback effort by drawing a penalty, and Adolfo Martinez Paquet put it home at 66:05.
Down the stretch, AIC tried to hang on, but Martinez Paquet was able to find Joaquim Johnson for a bid that hit the twine at 88:20, leaving AIC to settle for a tie.
AIC returns to Northeast-10 Conference action at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7 against The College of Saint Rose.
