BUFFALO – It was opening day for the D'Youville University women's soccer team, falling to American International College by a score of 2-0 Friday night at Dobson Field.
The Saints (0-1) came out firing in the early minutes of the action with sophomore
Hannah Woodhouse getting a great look at the net from a crosser, but the shot just went left. The Yellowjackets quickly returned the favor, scoring in the 16th minute to get on the board.
After a back-and-forth battle, AIC was able to add another goal in the 44th minute to take the 2-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Saints had a strong look on net with sophomore
Eleonora Cecchini getting a shot off, but the keeper was just able to make the save.
Sophomore Laosie O'Haodha paced the Saints' offense, getting three shots off with Woodhouse adding a pair.

Kailie Regan went the distance in net, making six saves on eight attempts.
