NEWARK, DEL.- The University of the District of Columbia's men's basketball team was defeated by Wilmington 74-67, on Wednesday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex. The Firebirds fell 1-5 on the season and the Wildcats improved to 2-4.
Kenyon Stone led UDC and the entire field with a season-high, 20 points while grabbing eight rebounds. He went 9-14 from the field and 2-3 from the foul line. He was followed by Tevin Curtis who netted 16 points and seven rebounds.
The Firebirds outscored the Wildcats 35-28 in the first half shooting 42.9% from the field while keeping their opponents 38.7%. UDC would come out the half, increasing that lead to as much as 13 points, which unfortunately didn't stick as Wilmington went on a 46-26 run to secure their victory.
UDC will head to N.Y. to face off against Molloy College next week Wednesday the 1st in their first conference matchup of the season. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm.
