West Babylon, N.Y. - The East Coast Conference will celebrate 30 years as an NCAA Division II conference throughout the 2019-20 season, the league announced on Wednesday. To kick off the year-long celebration, the league also unveiled a 30-year commemorative logo.

The logo will be featured on the ECC website, ECC Network broadcasts, the ECC's social media accounts, and on printed materials at the conference's championships and special events.

In addition, the ECC will promote the anniversary through a weekly web-series that will showcase the top-30 moments in conference history. The conference also has plans to incorporate additional features, such as "Where Are They Now," that will highlight successful alumni of the league's member institutions.

"It is my honor to be Commissioner as the East Coast Conference, and before that the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference, celebrates its 30th year as an NCAA Division II athletic association," said ECC Commissioner, Dr. Robert Dranoff. "This is an athletic conference that can truly boast about success in the classroom, on the playing field, and in the community. We are proud of all the student-athletes, coaches, and administrators who have made their mark in so many ways, contributing to their institutions and to the ECC and NCAA."

The ECC was formed during the 1989-90 season under its former name, the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference. The league started with 10-members competing in nine sports (men's basketball, baseball, softball, men's soccer, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, and men's golf).

The ECC currently has 10 member institutions in New York, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C. Four charter members, Mercy College, Molloy College, New York Tech, and Queens College, have competed in the conference throughout its 30 years. In all, 20 institutions have called the ECC home since its inception.

Rebranded as the East Coast Conference before the 2006-2007 season, the league has grown to currently offer 19 championship sports, 10 of which have access to automatic bids into the NCAA Championship. The ECC has been home to 23 Division II National Championship teams and one individual National Championship, as well.

"It is wonderful to have the opportunity to look back at so many great events and achievements in the ECC over the past thirty years. We hope that all of our fans and supporters, alumni and current/future team members, and all those coaches and leaders who help make the ECC so great, will help us celebrate and be part of our future success," added Dranoff.
