
Central Islip, N.Y. - Three East Coast Conference institutions finished in the top 80 of the Division II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings.
C.W. Post led the way in the 41st slot with 357 total points. The Pioneers had a strong spring campaign claiming a national title in men's lacrosse while also receiving NCAA bids in softball and women's lacrosse to earn 180 points. C.W. Post picked up 127 points in the winter after winning the Regional Championship in men's basketball along with receiving an NCAA bid in women's swimming and kicked off the year with 50 points in the fall for an appearance in the NCAA women's soccer tournament.
Adelphi followed with 283.5 points for a 65th place finish. The Panthers earned 25 points in the fall after receiving a berth to the NCAA women's volleyball tournament and added 18 points for men's swimming in the winter. A strong spring season propelled a 101 spot jump from 166th to 65th. The Panthers received NCAA berths in four different sports and claimed a women's lacrosse national title.
Dowling held the edge in the fall after earning 154 points for an NCAA women's volleyball appearance along with a trip to the NCAA men's soccer championships. The Golden Lions rounded out their 262 total points during the spring season with three NCAA bids to finish 72nd overall.
Five other ECC institutions claimed spots on the Final Directors' Cup standings. Bridgeport finished 106th, Queens finished 121st, Concordia finished 125th, St. Thomas Aquinas 190th and Molloy tied for 216th.
