Golden Lions Volunteer at Softball Clinic
Jan 20, 2009

Oakdale, NY-  Playing softball in January?  The Dowling Softball team did just that as they volunteered their time at a free clinic sponsored by the Lindenhurst American Little League.

In a series of free clinics for 7-13 year olds interested in softball, the Golden Lions took the time to volunteer for one session, lending their knowledge and skills as they taught the fundementals of throwing, pitching, fielding, and hitting.  The girls were broken into smaller groups to give them a more hands on experience with the Dowling players.

"Lindenhurst has produced many excellent softball players in the past, including our own Keri Boystak" said Dowling head coach Deb DeJong. "It was great to have an opportunity to give back to the community that has given us so much.  We had a good time and look forward to doing this again next year."

The Dowling Softball team begins their own season against Holy Family on March 7th.
