No. 20 Softball Clinches East Coast Conference Championship Title
May 3, 2009

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (May 3, 2009) - The C.W. Post softball team, ranked 20th in the latest NFCA coaches poll, was declared the overall winner of the East Coast Conference Softball Championships after posting a 3-0 record through the first three days of the tournament. Heavy rain halted the championship game from being played and the Pioneers remained the only team undefeated in tournament.

Sophomore pitcher Sarah Kiser (Cooper City, Fla.) was named tournament's Most Valuable Player after posting 3-0 record with a 0.35 ERA. Kiser allowed four runs in 20 innings and held batters to a .194 hitting percentage.

Official selections for the upcoming NCAA Championships will be announced Sunday evening. The tournament begins May 8 at the host Regional sites.
